Steward Cultural Development Group Receives The Catalyst Initiative Grant from The Center for Performance and Civic Practice

The Center for Performance and Civic Practice, led by Michael Rohd, is a national resource for artists and communities working together to build increased civic equity, health and capacity.  Round 2 of The Catalyst Initiative, a program (funded by The Andrew Mellon Foundation) that supports a learning cohort of small-scale Civic Practice projects around the U.S. The pilot of this program, which took place in 2014, curated and engaged 5 artists and their non-arts focused community partners to create and complete civic practice projects- a community engaged partnership based in artistic practice that responded to a community partner’s self-defined need.

In Round 2, eight partnerships/projects will be funded based on regional and project diversity.  The Advisory Council for the Catalyst Initiative includes Aaron Landsman, Carlton Turner, Polly Carl, Bob Leonard, Moira Brennan, Daniel Banks, Deb Cullinan, Marty Pottenger and Michael Rohd.
